The Winter-Spring schedule of classes for kids, teens, and adults includes a free Intro to Machine Sewing class for adults, two Winter Sewing Camps for boys and girls 8 to 12, Knit Nights, free Style Engineers sewing and fashion studio nights for teens, and more.

The Summer Camp schedule is now available. It's not too early to sign up!

SPECIAL CLASS: SewGreen is offering a free class for teachers registered with Ithaca Loves Teachers. The class will cover the basics of using a sewing machine, and how to teach these skills to others. Handouts supplied. Space is limited, so sign up soon.

ReUse Fashion Challenge Details

Reuse Fashion Challenge

SewGreen announces a challenging fashion design and sewing contest for anyone age 14 to adult. Here are the CONTEST DETAILS. To enter, fill out the APPLICATION FORM  The top winner will receive two round-trip luxury coach tickets Ithaca-to-NY, $200 in gift certificates, 20 hours of free studio space, and will be featured in the Reuse Fashion Challenge runway show April 13 during Ithaca Fashion Week. Deadline for entries is April 7-8.

SewGreen offers seasonal fashions from Eileen Fisher Renew. Clothes from this esteemed designer are previously purchased, cleaned and steamed, and very affordable. Proceeds support youth programs. New stock has just arrived, and Winter Clearance items are now half-off.

SewGreen is a not-for-profit program of Sustainable Tompkins. Our independent reuse/resale program annually saves about 20 tons of unwanted materials from going to the landfill, and sales proceeds help support our community programs.



Our store, which is our main source of revenue, thrives on donated materials. Items you donate are used in classes, resold, or passed along to other community organizations. Monetary gifts are also very helpful! All donations are tax-deductible.
