Discover fine affordable fabrics, yarn, and sewing supplies at the SewGreen Store - now doubled in size - in downtown Ithaca NY. A recent acquisition of colorful wool weaving yarns has brightened these early Spring days. Happening right now: Pick a Peck Sale. Fill a peck bag with fabric, yarn, trims, ribbon, lace, and assorted notions for $5! Learn to sew! SewGreen has classes for all ages. Current classes include knitting, basic machine sewing, using patterns, and a mending and sewing clinic where you can get help from experienced sewers. We assess, clean, oil, and tune-up older sewing machines – and provide coaching on how to get the best performance from your machine. Make an appointment for personal attention that will help you understand your machine and how to use it. We also refurbish older machines and sometimes have a few for sale.

SewGreen has summer jobs for teens age 14 and up who want to be camp counselors at our sewing camps in July and August. We provide training in sewing and teaching others to sew, as well as basic jobs skills.

The SewGreen store is now open 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday; 10 am to 5 pm Saturday, and noon to 5 pm Sunday.


The Art and Found sustainable clothing store has relocated right next door to SewGreen. We have also debuted Art ReStart, a new program for reusable art supplies, and a community arts space for small art shows, events, and classes. All of the spaces are connected. Come see!
