Tune-Up Shop
Our specialty is vintage and older sewing machines, including treadles, circa 1985 and earlier. We can work on modern plastic machines, but not those with computer components. We do not work on machines that are still under the manufacturer’s warranty.

Hours and Location
The tune-up shop is open 10 am to 2 pm, Monday through Friday, or by
Tune-Up Appointment.

The shop is located next door to the SewGreen reuse store,
112 North Cayuga Street, downtown Ithaca NY.

Services
CHECK-UP
A thorough inspection and testing of your machine to assess its overall condition, correct any minor problems, and advise you how to use the machine properly and/or how to get major problems fixed. $10 fee, plus the cost of any replacement parts.

TUNE-UP
Cleaning, lubricating, and improving performance of a machine in reasonably good working order. May involve minor repairs. $30, plus the cost of any replacement parts.

DIY TUNE-UP
We will instruct you on how to clean, oil, and improve the performance of your machine, right here in our workshop. $20, plus the cost of any replacement parts.

OTHER REPAIRS OR SERVICES
We are not always able to repair a machine that has a broken part or is very rusty. If we can make a repair, the cost will reflect our time and materials. If we cannot, we will refer you to repair shops in the region.
