SewGreen is a not-for-profit program of Sustainable Tompkins, an Ithaca-based 501(c)(3) organization that serves as our fiscal sponsor. Monetary gifts of $100 or more are tax-deductible through our sponsor.
The 15 Percent Solution
We provide community services such as jobs and mentoring for youth, and affordable or free sewing classes. We are a vibrant part of a centralized local economy. Through our reuse/resale store, we earn about 85 percent of what we need to continue our mission of sustainability and community education. It's that other 15 percent that will assure our continued work and value to others. Your gift will keep SewGreen going strong!

Donate by Check
If your gift is $100 or more, please make it out to Sustainable Tompkins, with SewGreen in the memo line. If it is less than $100, you may simply write it to SewGreen. Whatever the amount, mail the check, along with your name and mailing address to SewGreen, 112 N Cayuga St, Ithaca NY 14850. You will receive a personal thank you and acknowledgement of the amount of your gift.
The SewGreen reuse store generates a large portion of our revenue, thanks to your donations of useful - and often staggeringly beautiful - stuff. Please drop off your unwanted items at the store anytime we're open (11 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday). Follow the guidelines on this page, please. We prefer that large donations arrive in clear plastic bags. There is a loading zone in front of the store. If you want help bringing things in, just let us know. We will provide an acknowledgment form in case you itemize your charitable donations.
Donate Your Time
SewGreen couldn't get by without our wonderful volunteers. We are continually grateful to people who donate their time as store workers, teachers, activity leaders, and classroom assistants. If you are interested in joining our team, contact us or drop by for a visit.
